During her workshop, Renske Helmuth introduced us to the art of Japanese decorative quilting known as Sashiko.  We all got to practice the technique on a sample design and then when we were ready, she had several designs to choose from for our "real" piece.  Renske brought several books with her and we were all amazed at the quantity of traditional heraldic designs available. We were also introduced to several ways to incorporate Sashiko into our other work.  It's always fun to learn new techniques and this day was no exception.
