Lucy Anne Holliday was our guest speaker on Thursday April 9th.  Her topic was "Why We Quilt".  She talked about all the different reasons why we might quilt and illustrated some of the reasons with her wonderful quilts.  We quilt to help us stay connected to other women, to nurture, to console, to share, to heal, for the love of colour, texture and fabric, for personal satisfaction, and, among many more reasons, just because.  Lucy Anne was a wonderful speaker, very charming and humourous.  She definitely got a good laugh when she explained that the grandchildren who were destined to get some of her quilts were in fact imaginery - complete with names!  It was a special afternoon and enjoyed by all in attendance.
