Our Guild Challenge for 2006-2007 will depart from the usual.  Instead of a single challenge being due at the June Pot Luck Lunch, we will embark on a challenge to make seasonal placemats for the Meals on Wheels programme for clients in the Bracebridge, Huntsville and Gravenhurst area.

The challenge will be in four parts with judging and prizes to be awarded each time.  You may make as many placemats as you wish.

Winter placemats are due at the December 2006 meeting
Spring placemats are due at the March 2007 meeting
Summer placemats are due at the June 2007 meeting
Fall placemats are due at the October 2007 meeting.

The following guidelines will apply:
1. The placemats should be finished at 12" x 18"
2. All fabrics used must be machine washable and dryable.  Please pre-wash all your fabrics.
3. Any quilting technique is acceptable but no raised embellishments will be allowed.
4. Embroidery may be used.
5. Batting must be thin.  Flannelette would be a good choice.
6. A small card with your name may be pinned to the back of the placemat.
