For our Block of the Month for our 2008-2009 Guild Year we will be having fun with the traditional nine patch pattern block.  In the following months, we hope to make a sampler quilt featuring many variations of this pattern.  Each month you will receive one or two patterns with instructions to make a 12" block.  The final instructions will contain sashing and border measurements to complete the 70" x 84" quilt.

In addition, if you wish to participate, each month you will make one more block using the theme as decided by the committee.  All the blocks are to be returned at the following guild meeting and the names of the participants will be put into a draw and one lucky person will take home all the theme blocks!  The theme for the September Block is "Fall Colours".

These are the Friendship Star draw blocks submitted by members.  The winner of the blocks for December was Dianne Gronfors.

The friendship blocks were made up into 4 lap/wheelchair quilts and displayed at our January meeting.  They were then donated to Community Living to be given to individuals who would find them most useful.

Results of our Spring Flowers fabric blocks won by Judy Parker.  Our draw blocks from May will use the left-over spring flower blocks from last month.  Mary Lou brought in her completed quilt using the fall blocks she won and also, her quilt using all this year's blocks and Janet brought in her completed quilt using the 30's fabric blocks that she won in March.
