Outreach

Our members are proud of their Outreach contributions to the communities within Muskoka. Our members enjoy sewing and the satisfaction of knowing that their quilts will be used to comfort someone in need.

Together we make comfort quilts for:

  • women and children living in shelters.
  • baby quilts for single new mothers
  • wheelchair and lap quilts for our long-term care homes
  • lap quilts for our hospital oncology units.
  • Andy’s House, Hospice Muskoka

In December 2022, we were able to donate 87 quilts and 11 pillowcases to fill our community’s needs. Of course, Outreach would not be as successful if it were not for our generous members who donate materials, their time and energy in making the quilts.

Many members present us with their finished quilts, while others take advantage of our kits and patterns to piece a quilt top at their own pace. For those who are looking to practice and improve their quilting skills, we have pieced tops that they may take home to quilt and bind. Our Guild has had the good fortune to have a few members who are long-arm quilters, who regularly donate their skills to assist us in professionally completing some quilts.
