Our March 26/09 Meeting:

The theme for the March meeting was "think Green". We had everything from recycled fabrics,
beer bottle tops, pop can tops, and bread ties, to the greening of the earth with ponds, flowers and leaves. There is also an abstract using the colour green.
These pieces are 12 square inches. Enjoy the pictures. They will enlarge.

April 23 will see the Quilt Art Group hold their regular monthly meeting at Gateway Fibreworks in Gravenhurst to enjoy a one-day workshop called "Fibres to Flowers". As a group we will be learning the process of wet felting and together will be making one large piece of fabric. This large piece of fabric will be made of colourful wool to resemble a garden background. It will then be cut into smaller pieces that will be given to each group member for gardening embellishment while using fabric, yarn, ribbon, buttons, beads and fibres. We have one month to complete our little garden and return it to Gateway Fibreworks where they will be grouped together to create one large garden and hung on display for the entire summer.
